Availity CareProfile’s new batch function improves workflow

Physicians and providers can now reduce the time it takes to access a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida member’s Availity1 CareProfile® by using the new batch capability. It allows users to request the health care claims history of multiple patients at once, and then retrieve results in one CareProfile Batch response.

Authorized physicians and providers use CareProfile to view and/or print two years of medical claims information filed by physicians, pharmacies, labs, hospitals and other providers. With the batch capability, staff can run all the CareProfiles needed for the next day’s patients on the evening before for greater efficiency.

CareProfile Batch is accessed through the Availity Health Information Network. Simply use the existing Eligibility and Benefits (E&B) Batch process and press the “Submit Batch with ACP” button instead of the “Submit Batch” button.

CareProfile complements the physician’s own medical record by filling in some of the gaps in the patient’s medical history. It also supports coordination of care by allowing an authorized treating physician to securely view claims for services rendered by other providers.
