Physician Advisory Panel supports health care comparison tool

At its March 20, 2009, meeting, the Physician Advisory Panel overwhelmingly supported Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida’s (BCBSF) health care comparison tool, encouraging its deployment. This tool assists BCBSF members in evaluating the cost and quality of certain medical procedures. See
Cost Comparison offers transparency in health care. The panel also discussed other key issues impacting BCBSF, the health care industry and physician community; including health care reform and physician extenders.

BCBSF established the Physician Advisory Panel in December 2002. Consisting of more than 20 physician executives from across the state representing more than 15 medical organizations, the panel provides valuable advice and feedback to BCBSF regarding our programs and initiatives.
