Advanced imaging authorization process delayed for BlueMedicare PPO members

The addition of BlueMedicare PPO into the National Imaging Associates, Inc. (NIA) pre-authorization process for advanced imaging services was delayed. It was previously scheduled to begin Jan. 1, 2009.

Until further notice, advanced Imaging services for BlueMedicare PPO members should process as usual without the need for physicians obtaining prior authorization from NIA. Physicians will be advised of any change in the process well in advance of any future implementation date.
